Treasure Coast Compost LLC

Member Terms of Service

Effective June 2026 · Residential Drop-off Membership

1. The Membership

The Treasure Coast Compost Residential Drop-off Membership is a month-to-month subscription for Martin County households. Members bring food scraps to our partner farm drop-off station in Palm City, weigh in at the station, and log their drop-off using the QR check-in. In exchange, members receive the benefits described in Section 4.

By completing signup at treasurecoastcompost.com/join and checking the agreement box, you agree to these terms.

2. Accepted Materials

To protect the composting process and comply with Florida DEP Rule 62-709, only the following materials are accepted at our drop-off station. Please do not bring anything not on the accepted list — contaminated loads harm the biology and the community.

✓ Accepted
  • Fruit and vegetable scraps
  • Coffee grounds and paper filters
  • Tea bags (non-plastic / paper only)
  • Eggshells
  • Bread, grains, and pasta
  • Paper napkins and paper towels (unbleached)
  • Cardboard egg cartons (no wax coating)
  • Corn husks and cobs
  • Nut shells (except walnut)
✗ Not Accepted
  • Meat, fish, or seafood
  • Dairy products
  • Grease, oils, or fats
  • Pet waste or kitty litter
  • Diapers or hygiene products
  • Plastic bags or packaging
  • Coated or waxed paper
  • Chemicals, cleaning products, or treated wood
  • Anything not on the accepted list

Treasure Coast Compost reserves the right to refuse any drop-off that does not meet these guidelines.

3. Drop-off Station Rules

  1. Weigh your scraps at the hanging scale before dropping off.
  2. Scan the QR code and log your drop-off (name + weight) before leaving.
  3. Drop-offs without a logged check-in will not count toward your impact dashboard.
  4. Bags must be compostable or reusable — no single-use plastic bags.
  5. Drop-off station hours are posted on-site. Do not drop off outside posted hours.
  6. Leave the station clean and the scale in its resting position.

4. Member Benefits

Active members in good billing standing receive the following on a recurring basis. Benefits are available for pickup at the drop-off station unless otherwise arranged.

Monthly 2–3 lbs of fresh worm castings (living biology, produced on-site)
Quarterly 1 gallon of bio-complete liquid extract
Ongoing Member pricing on all TCC products (compost, biochar, additional castings and extracts)
Ongoing Access to seasonal farm events and member community
Ongoing Personal impact dashboard showing total lbs diverted and CO₂ equivalent

Benefit availability depends on production. Treasure Coast Compost will communicate via email if any benefit cannot be fulfilled in a given period and will provide a credit or substitute of equal value.

5. Billing and Cancellation

Membership is $20 per month, billed on a recurring monthly basis. Your first billing date is the date you complete signup.

Cancellation: You may cancel at any time by emailing info@treasurecoastcompost.com. Cancellations take effect at the end of your current billing period — you will not be charged for the following month. No partial-month refunds are issued. Benefits remain available until the end of the paid period.

Failed payments: If a payment fails, we will retry once. If the second attempt fails, your membership will be paused. Benefits will resume upon payment resolution.

6. Member Responsibilities

As a member, you agree to:

7. Limitation of Liability

Treasure Coast Compost's soil products (worm castings, liquid extract, compost, and biochar) are biological amendments intended for use on plants and soil. Results depend on your soil conditions, application method, and plant type. We do not guarantee specific plant growth outcomes.

Treasure Coast Compost is not liable for plant damage, property damage, or any losses arising from the use of member products or from drop-off station use. Our total liability to any member shall not exceed the fees paid in the 30 days preceding any claim.

8. Photo and Community Consent

We invite all members to share before/after photos of their garden in our private member community group. By sharing photos in the member group, you consent to Treasure Coast Compost using those photos in marketing materials (website, social media, print). You may opt out at any time by notifying us at info@treasurecoastcompost.com. Photos shared publicly by you on your own accounts are your own.

9. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. We will notify active members by email at least 30 days before any material change takes effect. Continued membership after that date constitutes acceptance of the updated terms. The current version will always be available at treasurecoastcompost.com/terms.

10. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida. Any disputes shall be resolved in Martin County, Florida.
